Almost two years ago my husband and I spent our tenth anniversary on the island of Innisheer, just off the coast of Ireland. We wandered through an old cemetery, rode bicycles all over the island, explored an ancient castle, and ate porter cake in a tearoom. One cozy little shop we visited had Inis cologne. I'd seen this advertised but had never smelled it, so I asked if I could. Its fragrance seemed to capture the essence of the island, from the rocky hillside to the ocean breeze to the Gaelic music. But it cost a little more than I wanted to spend at that moment...I was planning to buy a celtic knot bracelet later that day.
I still meditate on the events of that perfect day when I need a peaceful moment. I long to return to Innisheer and the other sites we visited. So when QVC had their St. Patrick's Day special and they had a great price on Inis, I ordered some.
It arrived last week. I think I shall refer to this as my signature fragrance. It truly is one of the finer things in life.
Finer Things Friday is hosted here.

It sounds like a truly lovely scent! What a wonderful way to recapture such a great moment in your life!
Oh, what a treasure! :) I've never smelled it, but now I would love to!
Blessings,

That's lovely... We're saving up to go to Ireland for our 5th anniversary. I'll be saving for the Inis now too! :)
Sounds lovely. One of our "dream trips" is Ireland. Maybe someday...
Wow. Your trip sounds amazing. It's cool to think a cologne can capture the scent of a place.
What a beautiful way to remember such a special time. Scent can be so evocative, I think. I have a perfume I got in Aruba and it takes me back every time...
Your description is going to make all of us want some! :)
how delightful that you were able to spend an anniversary in ireland!
i always tune in to QVC on st. paddy's day - i've never had a whiff of this irish scent but now i'm curious - i'm off to ireland in october for a spiritual director's conference (i know, poor me).....so maybe i'll check it out then.
