Works for Me Wednesday

Rocks in My Dryer hosts Works-for-me Wednesday, a chance for bloggers to share helpful hints on many subjects.

My bathtub is my favorite place to take a mini-vacation. Today I'm sharing a simple way to keep the bathtub clean. As your bathtime draws to a close, grab your bath puff and put a little shampoo on it (I use a natural shampoo with tea tree oil and lavender). Quickly wipe off the edges and the sides of the tub. After you exit the tub, add a little water to your puff, a tiny bit of shampoo, and wipe the bottom of the tub. This works well in my jetted bathtub (which does not have a shower attached).

Check out this week's book give-a-way.

That's a neat tip- I love baths, too! I will remember that! Scrubbing the tub is one of my least favorite chores- right up there with mopping! :(

Thanks for your comment on my post about a housework schedule!

Yeah, that is a good way to get the external tub clean but there's more to it than that.

The jets still have water in them after use. That water breeds nasty bacteria that can cause a funky infection.

So after doing what you did, just fill the tub with warm water up to the top of the highest jet. Add 2 cups of bleach and turn the jets on for 10-15 minutes. Drain and you're done.

I have this Whirlpool Tub and that cleans mine extremely well.

I hope that helps!

I don't use bleach. I don't like the smell, I worry about the fumes, and I don't want it spilled on our carpet. I found a more natural way to clean the jets--half a gallon of vinegar in a very full tub. Run the jets for five minutes, and then drain the tub.
